“EXCELLENT CONSULTANT OF THE YEAR” AWARD – BUDAPEST CHAMBER OF COMMERCE AND INDUSTRY (BKIK) (2012)
In March 2012 the Budapest Chamber of Commerce and Industry (BKIK) selected Áron Nemes and Vialto Consulting for the “Excellent Consultant of the Year” Award.
The award was given to Vialto based on our successful ERP supplier selection project for our Macedonian client, AD ELEM..
The project was implemented in close cooperation with Daten-Kontor, our consortium partner.
The specification and the implementation of an ERP system is a task strictly defined by international standards and best practices which requires specific expertise. Vialto’s competitive advantage and main added value during the project was the use of the DRAPP (Detailed Requirement Analysis and Parallel Planning) methodology for supplier selection, developed previously by our consultants and tailored according to the client’s needs.
The point of the methodology is to involve the pre-selected 2-4 potential suppliers in a pilot cooperation or, in some cases, a pilot project, which aims to carry out a systems analysis preparing the ERP implementation. Thanks to its flexibility, the DRAPP methodology can be applied in various settings both in the private and the public sector and can be accommodated with all types of procurement processes, including a multi-stage public procurement. The methodology tangibly improves the results of any operational development program with a high level of cooperation, like in the case of AD ELEM.
The main advantages of the solution for our client were the multi-step, continuously extending systems analysis, the availability of options and getting to know the potential suppliers thoroughly, which helped the client to precisely define their needs and to prepare for the change.
Key success factors of an implementation project are identifying the risks, estimating the costs and the duration. This was all possible before the final submission of tenders thanks to the detailed requirement specification and precise expectations, which also helped the potential suppliers to create a real price competition.

Vialto Consulting was internationally acknowledged for increasing the operational efficiency of the Educational Authority (OH).
The success of the project greatly relied on the close cooperation between the experts of the Educational Authority and Vialto Consulting. In September the project won the silver medal of ICMCI’s (International Council of Management Consulting Institutes) Constantinus International Award.
The following excerpt about the project is from an article published in Világgazdaság:
The whole article can be read online HERE.
“Simultaneous improvement of operational efficiency and customer satisfaction. This was the aim and the outcome of the reforms concerning the Educational Authority’s (OH) business processes. The success of the project greatly relied on the close cooperation between the experts of the Educational Authority and a Hungarian consultancy, Vialto Consulting. In September the project won the silver medal of ICMCI’s (International Council of Management Consulting Institutes) Constantinus International Award.
“The efficiency of the relevant process has increased by an average 18%” said Zita Magyar, the leader of the development project. “Furthermore, the number of errors has been reduced to almost zero as a result of more efficient work organisation and the sound use of the new IT solution. Due to these changes the Authority is now able to handle 38% more requests with a smaller staff and without overtime or delays.”
During the project OH’s and Vialto Consulting’s experts involved the customers of the Authority in focus group interviews to gain insight. In the meantime they also analysed and redesigned OH’s business processes, following the principles of the Lean methodology. They introduced the “single administrator model”, according to which each incoming request has a single owner who is responsible for following through the execution of the process. The experts were also leading the development of a new supporting IT system, which reports the actual status of each case.”
